Who am I?

I’m Emma, the current behind Rivers of Reverence. ​

 

Since I was a little girl, I’ve been drawn to photography and curious about the way images can tell stories, especially those of the female body. Exploring my own body through the lens led me to see the power of highlighting the female gaze, a perspective so often overlooked yet deeply vital. ​

 

I’m also a mother to a son, born at home in the presence of trusted family. That experience rooted me in the sacred power of birth guided by sovereignty, trust, and informed choice. ​

 

I have witnessed the negative impacts of birth control and the suppression of womb sovereignty, through generational hysterectomies and the casual prescription of birth control for even minor hormonal imbalances. These realities inspired me to study holistic care for women and our bodies. There is not one path for all women; we are diverse, and our emotional, mental, and physical differences deserve to be respected and nurtured. ​
